Sean took me to Vegas for my 30th birthday. I have such a great husband! We had an amazing time. The Aria is an amazing hotel, do swanky and beautiful. We will definitely be staying there again.

Wow. I am terrible at updating this blog. I guess with work being so busy, and nothing noteworthy to blog about, I just kind of let it do. I make no promises, but I would like to do better (especially since we got an awesome new computer).

What have we been up to?

Sean and I went on an all expense paid cruise to Mexico, compliments of my office. Granted I had to do some work while there, but it was amazing! We were even 1/2 block from a fatal shooting in Mazatlan (they have since closed the port).

I made these awesome cookies for our ward talent show! They were SO yummy...I will have to post the recipe later.

I made the cutest cupcakes for Easter. No those are not real carrots. But they sure were good.

Other things we have been up to that don't have pictures (or I am just too lazy to upload more - you decide)

~Had a wonderful Christmas at Sean's Aunt's house with his extended family and his brother who had recently returned from Afghanistan.

~Sean started playing softball again.

~Wonderful visits from Sean's parents.

~And lots of boring other stuff, that married couples with no kids do...

There you have it. What we have been doing since November...Lots of fun! Hopefully I will be better at posting....we will see.

My little brother's birthday is on Halloween. SO, this year (since it was is first birthday back since his mission) I made him the best cake ever. Minature brains! They were really creepy and gross. But they tasted OH SO GOOD!

The inside is red velvet cake mixed with cream cheese frosting. The outside is white chocolate tinted greyish pink...

These were so much fun to make and eat! I just have to figure out something to top it off next year! Any ideas?

P.S. - Yes I am wearing a Christmas Apron on Halloween...

Birthday Cake

For my Dad's birthday I wanted to make him the ultimate cake. He has never gotten the cool cakes or anything really special like that for his birthday. I made this one special for him.

My Dad is a huge SF Giants fan. Hence the SF Giants cake. This cake was SO much fun to make. It was my first time using Fondant, and I must say, for my first time, it didn't turn out too bad, I was pretty proud. I learned what to do and what not to do for the next one!

The actual cake itself was to.die.for.delicious. You can find the recipe here. The only difference is rather than acutal coffee in the cake I used Pero (barley) and rather than semi-sweet chocolate, I used milk chocolate. IT WAS SO, SO, SO good. You have to try the cake.

Anyway, as soon as I get my camera back, I will try to post about our fun trip to AZ and my trip to Bear Lake...I may or may not start posting regularly again...we will see. Work keeps me pretty busy, so I don't have as much free time to blog!

I haven't really been feeling this blog lately.....sorry....

I did however charge my camera so I can take more pictures. Sean is coming to town on Saturday and we are headed to Phoenix forever...ok, ok, maybe just 1.5 weeks. But still, I get to miss 7 days of work (not counting weekends), and then come home for 2 days and head back out to Bear Lake...I should have SOME good pictures. I promise to take some while in Phoenix and Bear Lake...I do have some good ones, but I didn't take them, so I am on someone else's time schedule...when I get them I will post them...

PS...sorry stalkers, you can try to come break into my house, but you probably wont be too lucky...people still live there even when we are out of town!

Sean came home and visited me a couple weeks ago, and I didn't even blog about it. We celebrated Marc's homecoming. Jeff and Chloe surprised us and came up too! It was such a fun weekend! I loved having my family together, we got to enjoy every ones company! And we always have SO much fun when the kids get together (us grown up kids).

I didn't even turn on my camera the whole weekend...sad I know. BUT, Sean is coming out this weekend. Marc is going to go out and work with him for the rest of the summer, so Sean is driving up on Friday and will return his rental car and take our car back down with Marc in tow.

I get to spend the 4Th of July with Sean after all. See, I was supposed to go out and see him this weekend, but ended up not being able to go...looks like it was good that I couldn't go.

It will be a quick weekend, but still a fun one!

I promise to take at least ONE picture....I am terrible...I have an awesome camera that I love and I hardly ever use it. I will for sure use it when we go to Phoenix and camping in a few weeks...We will definitely get some good pictures then!

*Sunday June 20th is Fathers Day. I am making my dad the most amazing thing ever - here is a hint - it combines the two greatest desserts ever............Ok you win, I will tell you. It is KEY LIME CHEESE CAKE! I am SO excited to make it, I will post about it when I do.

A little update:

**Last weekend I drove with Sean to San Jose. For those of you who don't know, Sean is going to sell pest control there for the summer. It was a nice drive with him, and we had a nice weekend getting him settled, and hanging out before I had to come back home. I am going to miss him tons, but it is for the best, and we feel this is the right thing for us at this point. though it still sucks.

**I am starting P90X over again. I was planning on posting pictures of the progress, but decided I might just wait until I finish it again. Who knows, I may surprise you and post sooner...but for now you just have to wait and see...SO here is to another go 'round with P90X! Wish me luck!

**Work is still crazy busy, and stressful, but my un-stress vitamins are wonderful, and make it bearable (maybe they will make this summer bearable too)

I don't have any pictures I want to post right now. I took some of these yummy dinners I made before Sean left, but I haven't felt like posting about them just yet. We will see...

Stress

Recently my stress levels have been going through the roof. With work and more work and life in general - I was turning into a nut case that was about to explode on the next unsuspecting person. Not a day went by at work that I didn't want to punch someone in the face (I have never gotten to do it, and still want to experience it some day, only without the repercussions).

SO, Sean and I went to check out this new nutrition store nearby - and I found these little gems:

After talking to the clerk (he told me how great they were and how he uses them all the time), I decided to give them a shot. They aren't the cheapest things in the world, so I got a small bottle just to try out to see if they really worked...

Low and behold...

They are amazing! Work has been so much more pleasant! I haven't wanted to punch someone int he face all week (don't remind me that it is only Tuesday). I haven't been getting irritated at the tiniest little things with people that don't deserve it. I feel great!

They are a vitamin with TONS of different vitamins and a few other things, that help with calming (like Lavender and Chamomile to name a few).

If you have any stress - I suggest checking these things out online - Amazon has the HUGE bottles for cheaper than you can get in the store, but the smaller ones are a few cents more after you pay for shipping.

Wow - I sound like a commercial, I promise this isn't. I just feel great now that I don't have the stress of work and life taking over my life!

I haven't really been in a mood to blog lately - not that there is anything to blog about anyway. Just haven't felt like it. I guess I need to get over that.

What is new?

-P90X is still going strong - we are on week 8 and loving it - it is still kicking our butts, but we plan on doing it again once we finish this 12 weeks.

-Sean and I decided to send him back to work for the summer. He is going to San Jose, CA. He leaves in a month. It is going to be hard with him gone, but we already have more trips to see each other planned, so hopefully I will only have to go a couple weeks without seeing him. We are hoping for a successful productive summer.

-Sean is also getting ready to apply to his business school - he meets with his councelor next week to see if he can apply yet or not - lets hope he can, it meas we are that much closer to being done with school!

-Buffy had to be put down last week. We got Buffy when she was just a puppy 15 years ago. She was a good dog. I feel terrible, because I always said that I wouldn't miss her when she was gone, but sadly I do, and I am sad that I wasn't better to her. My mom took her to the vet last week because she hadn't eaten all day, was panting while just sitting there and her back end kept giving out on her. The Vet said that she had an elarged heart and a heart murmer. He thought he could run a bunch of tests and give her medication to prolong her life a few days maybe a few weeks tops, but it wasn't going to help her. She had lost A LOT of weight, and couldn't even eat the good stuff - we knew there was something wrong. Rather than prolong the eneviteble we had her put down. It was a sad time for all. My little brother on his mission wanted to see her when he came home, and we tried and tried to keep her alive until then. He gets home in 2 months. We got her when he was only 6. She will be missed.

- Work is still crazy busy - I would love to hire another person to help out...I keep pushing, we will see how that turns out.

I suppose it is time to update on the happenings over here in our lives - As exciting as they are.

P90X is still going strong - we had a little (week long) set back, as we were in Boise for a week, and it is really hard to do your work out in a hotel room with 5 people!

I can see results in Sean and vise versa - but not in myself yet - I guess I can't complain, as this is only the 4th week we have been doing it (not counting last weeks miss). I still do love it though, it is killer and this week there are some crazy workouts, but I still love it, and can't wait until I am finished!

Now, I guess you are wondering what we were doing in Boise. Well, Sean's grandma Lou passed away on Monday March 1st. It is a sad time for everyone. We were there with family visiting and having a memorial service. Dusty, Sean's brother - who is a Marine (and cute and single ladies), was also home on leave - he is leaving to Afghanistan soon, so we got to see him before he left. It was a generally fun time - with a few sad times in there too.

Sean is still in school and has spring break next week, so that is nice - though it will not change my schedule - I still wont see him until late as he works in the evenings.

Bedroom Redo...with a little P90X

Sean and I had a busy weekend - man what with all the vacuuming and mopping - how did we ever have time to redo our entire bedroom and spare bedroom?

I will tell you how P90X! Man I love that workout! I feel great, and have so much energy! I can do SO many more things so easily now, and it has only been 2 weeks, just think what it will be like is 10 more weeks! I will be SUPERWOMAN...

Anyway I digress...

I have been wanting to redo our room for quite some time now...AND on Saturday we did! I LOVE IT!

I LOVE the way it turned out.

We now also have a REAL spare room, with a queen size bed in it! I love having a king, Sean and I are both bed hogs and this works out really well!

Sorry no pictures of the spare room, but it is still pretty boring, just now it has a bed and a little decoration.

Most Fun I ever had....cleaning

Over the weekend we got a few new cleaning products.

Let me explain.

My mother in law got Sean and me a vacuum for our wedding. Bless her heart - but this sucker weighed about 100 lbs and was nicknamed Johnny 5 (you know from Short Circuit). It seriously looked like Johnny 5 - and was just about as difficult, I dreaded vacuuming and wanted to chuck that thing every time I had to vacuum. (Sean's mom knows because she got one for herself too - and hated it just as much as me). WELL, I have wanted a new vacuum for quite some time - and not just any vacuum - I wanted a Dyson Ball - nothing else would do - so I made do with Johnny 5 for almost 3 years.

Sean decided that it was time. Time to make vacuuming not such a chore - tie to get a new vacuum. We came home with this amazing guy.

This is the most amazing vacuuming experience I have ever had! Vacuuming is now fun again!

BUT WAIT

It doesn't end there!

I also HATE to mop! Mops are SO gross and full of germs! I also hate cleaners! But I can't get plain water hot enough to just use it - I still want it to disinfect, just without cleaning agents. SO, Sean being the wonderful husband that he is also bought me this amazing little cleaning guy:

I love cleaning with steam! It cleans and disinfects all at the same time - let me tell you it is quite the work out though! Great for those arms!

I mopped our entire house (well all the tile at least) and I love this guy! Cleaning has now become a fun job, not such a chore!

I have two things I want to divulge on my blog today. We will start with the first

We have now done 1 week of P90X. I am loving it! It is really hard, but I feel SO amazing! I will admit I was pretty nervous. I have heard all these stories from people about how hard it was and how they couldn't do it, because it was so hard. SO, I was pretty much set to fail (at least in my head). Now granted I am not doing my workouts in the same caliber as the people on the videos, but give it time. I will be there.

My body is sore today, but that is because we did Kempo yesterday. See, Friday we went to Elko for a memorial for my grandmother who recently passed. We didn't get our workout done on Friday night, so we did it Sat morning. Then we were going to do Saturday's workout on Saturday night, but I wasn't in a good mood, and working out was the last thing on my mind. SO, we did it Sunday morning...I hurt, but it is a good hurt.

AND, I am SO thankful that we have a hot tub in our backyard, that thing is a lifesaver.

Ok, so if anyone is contemplating doing this workout, just remember that it takes from 1-1.5 hours 6 days a week. It is SO worth it though. I will update you on our P90x journey next week when we have another week under our belts.

On to the second thing. I love my husband. Sean has never been the romantic type and I am ok with that. He shows his love to me in other ways. He is the most generous man. He would rather spend money on me than on himself. He always wants to make sure I am happy. He has changed so much since we got married. He does things with me that he doesn't want to do. He goes and watches chick flicks with me. He tells me all the time how amazing I am, and how much he appreciates everything I do for him. When we workout together he encourages me and tells me how amazing I am doing, even if I want to quit - he will not let me quit. There are a million more things he does all the time, but I don't want to bore everyone with how much I love my husband.

Here is a funny tidbit about Sean. He did get me a Valentine's Day gift this year. He got me a Ruger LCR. For anyone not sure what a Ruger LCR is. This is a Ruger LCR (38 Special):

P90X

Last night was my first work out with the P90X program. I don't know how you can hate something so much but love it so much at the same time.

I have to admit I was pretty nervous to start it. I keep hearing about how hard it is, and how so many people quit doing it. BUT, I am determined to finish it (at least once)!

Sean and I went shopping on Saturday for some healthy food. Might I say that this nation is crap! They charge so much more for healthy food and the crap food is SO cheap! I have known this for a long time (we have been pretty healthy eaters for a while now), but it is even worse now! Anyway, I digress, Our kitchen is stocked full of healthy food, and yummy healthy food at that! I love to try new recipes and creations and this is a good healthy way to do it!

Anyway, back to my work out, granted this was the first one, and I have a killer one tonight to do...but I loved it, it was killer hard, but went by really fast and didn't seem like 1.25 hours. And, I may or may not have puked a little at the end...just chalk it up to pushing myself really hard to get the results I wanted.

I took before pictures and Sean and myself, and I will maybe post them later. We plan on taking pictures at the end of each segment - 4 pictures all together, maybe I will post those.

In the meantime, if you want a killer awesome workout, try this one on for size, definitely will be doing it after we have babies, to get back into shape!

2nd greatest use of a mug

I got this email today - it was for a chocolate cake in a coffee mug....WHAT! I had to try this.

4 tbsp - flour
4 tbsp - sugar
2 tbsp - cocoa

Mix those three ingredients in the mug

1 - egg

mix egg with dry ingredients until mixed

3 tbsp - milk
3 tbsp - oil

Mix last two ingredients into mixture mix well -

Add a splash of vanilla and 3 tbsp chocolate chips.

put in microwave and cook for about 3 minutes - give or take a second or two.

AND

WA-LAH you have chocolate cake in a mug. This makes enough for two, but if you really want a treat, eat it all yourself.

It isn't the greatest chocolate cake in the world (what do you expect, it was cooked in a microwave). BUT not bad for a 5 minute treat for one. Especially what you don't want to make the whole cake, because you know you will eat it ALL!

Now go try it. I used a HUGE mug, and it was plenty big, so I bet a normal sized mug will work fine.

Truffles!

I decided I wanted to make Truffles on Friday night. SO I did. I was dreading their flavor. Thought I used too much peppermint. I made my parents taste them before I would even try them. They turned out SO delicious! I was very impressed. I have a few ideas for making them even better next time. Which will be very soon!

I added the red hot to the top to cover up little holes from the tooth-picks I used (one of the things I will be changing next time)

When I told Sean I was going to make them, he went on and on about how much he hates truffles. They are gross and he will not eat them, so I should not make them....HE LOVES THEM!

Yeah for you guys, TWO posts in ONE day! AMAZING!

SO, Sean and I have had hand me down couches since day one of our marriage (granted it has only been 2.75 years) but that is 2.75 years too long.

We started out with my parents old love seat...not even a couch! But at the time we didn't have much room for it, so it worked out.

Then, Sean's parents got new living room furniture, and gave us their old couch, loveseat and chair. They were great - I covered them and they looked brand new - not 15 years old.

SO, sean and I decided that it was time to buy new couches, and comfy ones at that. Ones that we could cuddle on and watch a movie. Ones that if we were cuddling and watching said movie we would actually be comfortable and not trying to kick each other in the face!

SO, after much thought and looking around we bought new couches! Technically it is a sectional, ottoman and cuddle chair. BUT either way, I LOVE THEM!

And our sectional - needs to be broken in, but I still love it.

Other than cars, this is our first furniture purchase - everything we had up until then has been hand me downs or wedding gifts - except our bed - buy my parents bought that, so they didn't have to move mine into our new house. I am officially a married woman, buying furniture with my husband is the ultimate sign!!

For Christmas I got Sean Jazz vs Suns tickets. He is a HUGE Suns fan. I only got two tickets (I also got them from my boss). Then my boss gave me the other two tickets to say thank you...because I am such an AMAZING employee.

We invited Sean's dad and brother.

We had TONS of fun!

Us before the game, sadly I didn't take too many pictures, and I kind of look like hell. We spend the day downtown at Gateway shopping and killing time (I got two amazing shirts for 14 bucks at Express).

Which carried on into the game. They played amazing, and were doing really well, until the Jazz stepped up and ended up beating them. Poor Suns, they have been having a hard time lately!

BUT we had a great time, and it was a great Christmas present for Sean - Oh did I mention we were in the 20th Row! Awesome seats!

Here is my $25 DI find - just needs a little TLC, but had Great bones. I had been looking for a dresser that fit what I needed it for for a LONG time! It had to fit in my little nook in the spare room, and it had to be short enough that it could double as a changing table for when babies came. DI trips on Thursday nights paid off!

I decided to add some "feet" to the bottom of it, to give it a little more pizazz and plus, it makes it look SO much better!

And the Finished product! I.AM.IN.LOVE! It is perfect, once I get the floating shelves up above I will show the whole thing! It is exactly what I wanted! Now we just need the babies to put their stuff in it rather than Sean's. But in the meantime it is perfect, as we were SO short on drawer space!

I wanted to thank my family and friends that were able to come to our Sealing. You all mean the world to us! I know there was some family that couldn't be there, but you still are counted in the group that means the world to us.

How blessed we are to be able to spend this wonderful time with our family and friends. It is amazing the people that really count will always be there with you! It has been a LONG journey for both Sean and myself, full of ups and downs, but neither of us would be the people we are today without them. I wouldn't change anything for the world!

This is the beginning of forever full of wonderful memories!

I love Christmas time. We get to spend time with family and friends. It always makes me sad when it is over. Christmas is officially over tomorrow at 8am (when I will be back at work). I have loved my time off to spend with my brothers and their children! They are all amazing!

Sean and I were spoiled on Christmas. We got new pots and pans...Mine were Jeff and Becky's hand me downs they got when they got married over 8 years ago! Finally time for new ones! Thanks Sean's parents! I also got my crock pot and camera! Sean got lots of new snowboarding stuff and clothes! I love that man! I was able to surprise him with amazing seats to the Jazz vs. Suns on the 25th! He was SO excited about that (his favorite team = Suns) We will be in Suns gear at the game, please don't beat us up!

Last Weekend

On Thursday Jeff, Becky and Chloe came into town! They stopped by my work to say "HI" and because Airika brought in Chloe a treat. We never have treats when she comes in, so she made sure we had some! That night we decided to go to dinner. We choose Noodles and Co. Chloe drove with us, and is my little shadow! I love it, she is a doll! While we were eating Chloe pipes up and said "You know what would be really gross? If the noodles were made out of octopus tentacles"! I about died laughing!

She is a riot!

Friday we went snowboarding! SO much fun! We have pictures, but none of them are on my camera. They are all on my little brothers, once I get them, I will post some.

On Saturday Sean and I were Sealed! It was such an amazing experience. We am so blessed to have so many people that love us. I want to thank all my friends and family that were able to come! It wouldn't have been the same without you guys there! Thank you SO much!

Here is a little story about that. Saturday morning, I was freaking out because I couldn't find my camera! I have to have my camera at the Temple! We were in the car ready to do (we have a few errands to run before going to the Temple). Sean, Alicia and Aaron all got out to go help me find it. Finally we found it....funny thing, I didn't even take it out of my purse for pictures, I had every intention of giving it to someone to take pictures, but was so overwhelmed, I completely spaced it! I am really bummed about that. Other people got some great pictures, so once I get those, I will make sure to post them.

Now it is Monday, I am back at work for 2.5 days this week. Jeff, Ryan Sean and Preston are snowboarding today.....jealous....

I need to get the pictures off my camera....which by the way, is the most amazing camera in the world! It is a complete touch screen, you can even touch the screen to take the picture!

Ok, I have pictures of our tree I need to post....but I have to figure out how to get them off our camera....I got a new one! It is AWESOME.

First item of business - The update on my Holiday Maintenance Crew......I am down 5000 calories! only 12,500 more! I can do it!

Next item of business - It is snowing like CRAZY! I had 5 inches on my car this morning...not to mention that it took me 53 minutes to drive to work....my commute is normally 17 minutes! I love it though, it just means that the mountains are getting lots of snow, and if Sean has his way, we will be on the mountain Saturday snowboarding - Warm-up for when Jeff gets here and we have many trips planned....we need to kick his bootay!

Ok, last item of business - I am getting a COLD! - Yes I said COLD not the FLU!

I have mucus dripping down the back of my throat at night (when I sleep) giving me the worst sore throat in the world! I sound all nasally and gross.....I better get over this soon! We have many important dates coming up and I don't want to be sick for any of them!

So I started my maintenance crew work out. Man it is killer let me tell you! BUT, in 3 days (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) I burned 1900 calories! That means that I only have 15,600 left to go! Man that seams like a lot...but I CAN DO IT!

You know what that 1900 calories also means?! I didn't gain an ounce over Thanksgiving!

PS. My Thanksgiving was amazing! I made it myself, and everything turned out SO yummy! I have pictures, I will have to post sometime!

Holiday Maintenance Crew

The average person gains 5 lbs over the holiday's because of an excess of 17,500 calories eaten! GROSS....

SO, my gym is starting a holiday maintenance crew! I am stoked. Here are the details

- Starts 11/26/09
- Ends 12/31/09
- Goal: burn 17,500 calories in that time frame
- what you win: a free month's dues and a cool tee shirt!

Now everyone can do this, just track it yourself! Come on! It is great! And working out makes you feel SO good!

I am just doing it for the tee shirt....

Ok, also so I don't gain 5 lbs!

I figure I have a little advantage, one that my husband works at the gym, so it is easier to go, I get to see him. And two because the program I am doing burns about 600 calories in 30 minutes! I know crazy! - that means I will only have to work out for about an extra 30 minutes every day!

I am really excited to do this. It is a great goal to have and a great way to not gain weight, and since i don't plan on eating too much, maybe I will even lose some weight!

I will keep you posed on my progress as the time passes...

Emerson Mitchell Cornelius

was born Monday November 9th at 6:09 pm. He is 7.5lbs and 20 ". He is adorable, we went to visit him today! Both Baby and mom are doing fine.

This year I decided to do a themed Halloween "Dinner Party" It turned out awesome! I will let the pictures speak for themselves!

You will have to forgive me....apparently I am terrible at taking pictures....they are all blurry!

I have to first start with these cute little cupcakes! They were for the ward Trunk or Treat. They turned out SO cute and SO delicious! I saved a some for us to have for dinner, and my dad ate 3 of them they were that good! I have never had that many cupcakes eaten at once!

Next is my favorite part of our dinner. I made this pumpkin spice cake from scratch! And decorated it to look like a pumpkin! It was SO cute, in the picture it started to smash in the middle so don't mind the little spare tire my pumpkin has!

These were my monster toes! SO cute and Yummy too!

My potato ghosts were a hit, and tasted great too!

Thanksgiving Point

On Saturday Sean, my Dad, my Mom and I all went to Thanksgiving Point. My Dad had never been, and wanted to go, and partake of all the fall festivities. We did 2 corn mazes and somehow on the second one skipped past half of it, and got through it in about 15 minutes. We were going to stay until everything got scary, but we didn't feel like killing that much time. It didn't help that my Mom did something to her knee on the first corn maze, and could hardly walk.

Anyway, it was a great time. We decided it would be more fun if we took kids next time...

Next weekend it is Lagoon Frightmares. Sean and I have gone every year since we have been married, I think we even went when we were still dating. The only time I ever go to Lagoon is during frightmares...it is even better because I never have to pay to go, we get free tickets!

I will take pictures there and post them!

"Mr. Fix-it"

I love my husband. I especially love that lately he has been super helpful. Lets start with my first "fix-it" story.

Yesterday as I was cleaning up the kitchen, Sean got this wild hair to fix the soap dispenser that is attached to our sink. It is always getting clogged with dried soap. I don't use it enough...what, I am just not in the habit.

Anyway.

He was cleaning it out, getting out all the crusted soap and trying to make it pump again. He seriously spend at least 30 minutes trying to get it to pump...I told him, that it wasn't worth fixing, because it is just a cheap pumper anyway, and I never use it. He kept at it. SO, a little bit later, I told him again...that is was a cheap POS. Finally he decided that it was a cheap POS and gave up....

But that isn't where my story gets good....

He wasn't done with his "Mr. Fix-it" mood.

I was in bed, trying to relax because I have to get up earlier now, so I would like to go to bed a little earlier to make up for it...

Anyway.

He came into the room and started looking around under the bed. I asked the husband what he was getting. He informed me that he was looking at the bed - he wanted to fix it (we have a VERY squeaky bed, every time you roll over it squeaks). The other night it kept me up half the night...

So after he came in and left about 5 times, he decided that he wanted to take it apart right then and fix it (he knew how he was going to do it). Of course I would not let him (remember I am trying to wind down and go to sleep).

After another 20 minutes of him coming in shaking the bed, jumping on the bed and then leaving he finally came back in with 3 pillows. He shoved two of them behind the headboard and one in between the foot board and mattresses. He then proceeded to shake the bed, jump into it and convulse as if he was sleeping and turning over.

Let me tell you, the next thing I heard was music to my ears...I heard NOTHING! He had temporarily fixed the bed. No more squeaking when you get it in it. No more squeaking when you roll over. NO MORE SQUEAKING!

Hubs still plans on taking the bead apart today and trying out his fix-it idea to see if that will work, because he is certain if he can stop the metals from rubbing together he will have solved the problem.

I sure hope so...My guest room just isn't the same with 3 of its pillows missing, especially when we have company coming to stay with us today!

New Chairs

Well, not really NEW per say...but I recovered my dining room chairs and they are just like new!

I first got the idea back in May from This amazing blog...Well it only took me FIVE months to actually do this...what my husband was gone and I wasn't really motivated to do ANYTHING! I missed him too much!

Anywhoodle, here is my amazing creation! I just LOVE them! They match my dining room wall amazingly! I love the orange! The combination of green, orange yellow and red match my whole kitchen just marvelously! I.A.M.I.N.L.O.V.E!!

Where Have We Been?

Ok, I know I haven't blogged in a long time. What, I have been busy! Works is so busy right now that I hardly have time to play on the Internet....let alone update my blog. So without further adu (is that spelled right) here is what we have been up to.

*Sean came home a couple weeks ago! I am loving having my husband back! The day he came home I was like a newly wed all over again....all smiles and giddy! He is an amazing man, and I hated living without him for so long!

*I got a promotion at work. NNNIIIICCCEEEE...It has been going really well (as has the raise).

*Sean has been looking for a part time job. He is pretty sick of being home all day and just doing school. BTW, he is still in full time school, it is just all online this semester. yuck.

*Um, Oh I had a birthday, and turned 28.....Man I am getting old. I think this was the first time in my life that I didn't want a birthday, and I didn't want it to be celebrated. I was even a grouch for a week prior to my birthday...how sad is that?! And it was only 28! What is going to happen when I turn 30 or 40 or eeekkkk 50?!

Man looking at what we have been up to kind of makes me realize we are very boring people! That is all. Work, hanging out with my husband and cooking. Well, I must say that even though we lead very VERY boring lives, I do love the life I lead! I am so glad to be where I am and with the people I am with! I am blessed to have 2 wonderful families that love me and I them! My life is practically perfect in every way....there are a few things I would change, but we won't go into that here.

Oh geeze, I just realized this update blog turned into a mushy gushy thankful blog...come on Carly it isn't thanksgiving yet!? HA, just kidding people settle down! I know I can be thankful on more than one day a year!

So there you have it, a glimpse into the wonderfully boring lives we live!

Here is the long awaited post (at least for me)...

I left on Thursday and drove to Elko...I know not very long, but I was staying with the inlaws. Good times. This little jem on the Salt Flats is the most entertaining thing between SLC and Elko.

I hada nice visit with my in laws (I always do). Then I hit this nice little snag right outside of Reno...It took me an hour to drive 6 miles! Craziness...this is what I did while sitting there...I took many more pictures, but I will spare you the extra longness.

On saturday Sean and I went to Santa Cruz with his buddy Landon and his girlfriend Alyssa. We had lots of fun. I forgot how freezing cold the water was, but I braved it and we all had a great swim...that is until I got so cold that I had to get out. Man I miss the beach, we even saw some dolphins. It was great.

After a fun afternoon at the beach, we decided to hit the boardwalk, we didn't ride any of the rides, mostly because I am a tight wad and refused to pay the price they wanted for them. We went down the pier, and found a nice little restaurant and had dinner, this picture is behind the restaurant, the sunset was amazing!

After dinner we went down below the pier and watched the sea lions try to jump up on the rafters. We seriously watched them for at least an hour! It was SO funny, we were cheering them on, and acting like high school cheerleaders cheering at the homecoming football game! They finally made it up there...at least the one we were watching for the majority of the time.

Funny story, once the big one (the one we liked most) made it up there, he was waddling his way over to a cross beam, and this little guy had stolen his spot (and got up on his rafter before he was able to). Well, the big guy start barking like crazy at the little one, and the little one booked it to another spot. The big one took his spot and got comfortable. It was hilarious!

By the time we were done watching the sea lions, it was dark. The boardwalk looked amazing, so I tried my best to get a good picture with the night setting on my phone. This is what turned out. I am pretty proud of it. It was gorg!

On Sunday we went to Merced to visit Jeff, Becky & Chloe. It was tons of fun! I love those guys! We played baseball with Chloe and her whiffle bat and ball, and Jeff and Becky watched and talked to us.

Sunday evening we went to San Francisco. We got into SF at about 6. We had to take a round about way to get there because the Bay Bridge was closed....sucked! Our hotel was SO cute, I didn't take any pictures of it though. It was really old and completely renovated. The rooms were TINY! Barely enough room for our bed. We also had a shared bathroom. I didn't mind it so much, except for 2 things.

1. Each part of the bathroom was in a different area. There was a toilet closet, a shower closet and then the sink was in our bedroom.

2. Kind of creeped me out knowing that I was sharing a shower with an entire floor of complete strangers!

It was really cute though, and I would stay there again. I might just pay extra though, to get our own bathroom.

Once we got all checked in, we walked around Union Square...since it was a block from our hotel. I have never seen so many HUGE stores! The Old Navy right around the corner was 3 huge stories! Craziness!

On Monday we took the cable car down to Fisherman's Warf and played tourist! It was lots of fun. We got In-N-Out...love that place...can't wait for the one to be built right down from my work!

Sean and I decided to take a little boat ride under the Golden Gate Bridge, and behind Alcatraz. It was well worth it. We had a blast...except for the huge splase we got on the way back that soaked the back of me and the front of Sean!

This is where they had the amazing fresh crab, calamari & clam chowder! We of course had to taste it all! I have never had such fresh crab before...so yummy...but man was I stuffed after a taste of everything!

That evening we took a nice little walk up to China Town, trying to figure out what we wanted to do for the rest of the night. It was quite the place....

Here we are on some street in China Town...We ended up looking for a pizza place, got a slice of pizza and went back to the hotel room and crashed...Oh yeah, let me tell you the hotel rooms has ZERO air conditioning! It was FREAKING HOT!!!

Anyway....If you made it this far, I am really proud of you.

I am back home, and back to work...Sean is still there working for a few more weeks. I am done with this being apart crap. I am ready for him to be home. But we must look at the bright side, we both got to go on 2 vacations we wouldn't have done otherwise...and I was able to go to DC, which was cool!

Ok, I have been doing this for over an hour...and I really need to get my butt to work...though I am sitting at work...just haven't started it yet today.

Hiking Timp...the pictures

I had planned on blogging about this last week...But, I got too busy at work, so I didn't get to it. SO here goes..

We started hiking Timp at about 1 in the morning. It was pitch black, I thought we would be the only ones on the mountain...little did I know...It was awesome. Starting in the dark made it easier because you couldn't see what was ahead of you.

We didn't quite make it to the top, we were about a mile from the top...but we still went like 6.5 miles! That is crazy. And, we still had an amazing view of the sunrise.

It was freezing before the sun came up! I had on 2 sweatshirts, gloves & a beanie...I was still freezing!

Amazing views. Mitch has many more pretty picures, but he hasn't sent them to me yet...

It was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't believe how far back we were, and how amazingly beautiful it was. SO awe inspiring! I will for sure do this hike again, but I need to get in a little better (OK a lot better) shape before I do it again. Next summer baby! Any takers!?

Now, I need to blog about my trip to CA to see Sean...just need to get the pictures off my camera...hopefully today or tomorrow!

I had such an amazing weekend with my brother and his family. Sadly I didn't take any pictures!

Thursday: Went to lunch with Jeff, Becky, my mom, Ryan & Chloe. Then I had to go back to work.

Friday: Worked half day. Went shopping with mom, Becky and Chloe! Lots of fun! Bought these little gems! I LOVE them!

Then went to dinner in South Jordan for the wedding (Becky's cousin was getting married)
Took a detour and stopped at Temple Square for Becky's other cousin and his wife could see it. Got home REALLY late. Had a slumber party with Chloe, and let her stay up as late as she wanted! Big mistake...finally made her go to bed at 1:30 am!

Saturday. Went to breakfast at Sills, best breakfast and scones in the world! Went back to DSW so Becky could get the shoes she wanted. Jeff and Becky bought me another pair of shoes for my birthday (I know it is a ways away..but they wont be here). They are pretty black patent leather, and suede pointy toe...SO CUTE...I love them too!

Then Mom, Chloe, Ryan and me all went to run some errands and get ice cream (we promised it to Chloe on Friday, but weren't able to get it). Went to another wedding reception on Sat night, saw some old friends I haven't seen in like 12 years! LONG time! Went home and had another slumber party with Chloe...

Sunday. Went to church, came home and built the greatest fort with Chloe, and we played in it all afternoon. Went to visit Grandma, got some yummy Carmel apple pieces, and an amazing back rub. Went home and said goodbye for now!

WHEW...what a fun filled weekend. I am very very tired today, but Loved every minute of it! I love my niece, and I don't get to see her very often! We had so much fun together! I really miss my brother and his family living so close to us! Maybe one day they will be close again!

4th of July Hike

I am finally playing catch-up....kind of...

On the 4th of July my Dad, Ryan and I went for a hike up Adam's Canyon. Great fun.

We were at the top, my shoes kept slipping off the rocks and I was trying to get my footing.

We wanted to hike to the top of the waterfall, but it just kept going and going, so we stopped at this amazing view and took a picture.

DC and I need to update....soon

I am back in UT now...and have about a million things to post about. Once I get the pictures I can post. I took my camera to DC, but neglected to charge it before the trip, so I only got about 7 pictures. Sean took all the rest with his handy dandy phone.

I do have a few pictures which I will share with you, because they are awesome! I had SO much fun in DC. It is beautiful there. I would love to live there...but it is WAY too expensive!

My favorite site of all was Arlington Cemetery. That was probably the most eye opening and humbling experience ever. The cemetery just goes on forever.

The Smithsonian Institute. This was the beginning of the day on Friday. It was amazing all the buildings and architecture!

We were hungry...I mean DYING hungry, so we went to the aerospace museum and ate lunch and looked around. Kind of cool, but kind of boring, until we got into the War stuff!

The view from Arlington House. Amazing! Arlington Cemetery was my favorite. The changing of the guards at the tombs of the unknown was so amazing. The respect they have for those unknown soldiers is unbelievable!

Sean on our walk up to the Washington Monument. Sean though it wasn't too far to walk from Arlington Cemetery to the Lincoln Memorial....little did he know, it was LONG, we walked all the way from Arlington to the Lincoln Memorial and then up to the Washington Monument and then to the Holocaust Museum. LOTS of walking!

I should have posted about this a few weeks ago. Ryan turned 24 on June 25th. WOOHOO for RYAN! We had a little party with some of his friends.

I made his birthday cake, but I didn't tell him what I made it from until AFTER he tasted it, and said it was really good!

AND trust me, it was DELICIOUS! It had no flour, sugar, or dairy in it! Perfectly healthy cake!

I loved it, and probably ate most of it!

It was a three layer chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream frosting! SO Delish!

Happy late birthday Ryan. You are a great brother! We all love you TONS!

Catching up

Man I have been posting a lot these last couple days....well, I have had a lot to say, even if it is only important to me!

I neglected to mention that I got my other bathing suit in the mail...the one I posted about here...I really liked the bathing suit, but I wasn't too fond of the top on me. SO, I got in touch with the company and asked how I could exchange it, they were wonderful, and I got this little beauty just a few days later.

(I know it is the same suit design...I told you I loved the design just not the top, I traded it for the other style top...I couldn't decide which I liked better anyway)

Anyway, the new top is here and I LOVE it! It fits great and is super duper cute!

Now, all I need is a place to wear it. Do you think my coworkers would mind if I wore it to work? I kid, I kid...I would never wear it to work!

Yesterday was my momma's birthday! I love my mom, she is the most amazing woman I know. We have had our ups and down, but I can now say that she is my best friend (aside from Sean).

I love the time we get to spend together, and since Sean has been gone, it is SO much more! You are always willing to come with me somewhere when I don't want to go alone....even when you don't want to! Thank you!

Park City with the In Laws

I spent last Thursday-Saturday with my In-Laws and extended family in Park City. I had a wonderful time with Sean's family! I am truly blessed to enjoy their company and vise versa (I think). So many people don't get along with their In-Laws, so I guess we are lucky!

Anyway, We had fun. It was kind of rainy..so that sucked. We went to Midway to a resort that had this amazing Danish Bakery...we tested their wonderful danishes...though I tried my best not to have too many (still on my diet and down 12 lbs thank you very much).

On Friday it was Kiley and Kendall's birthday (sorry girls if I spelled your names wrong). They turned 12! We had fun riding the alpine coaster and slide and taking a scenic tour up the ski lift and back down.

Those girls are a riot!

Spending time with Sean's family really makes me miss him. I was really bummed that he couldn't be there with us! BUT...I get to go see him in less than a month!

Lucky for me...my father in law didn't have enough fun with me, so he is coming back into town to spend a couple days with me (tonight and tomorrow)...never mind that he is coming because he is taking Preston (my brother in law) to Lagoon with the twins!

PHEW...lots of family time....I LOVE IT!

Today is our 2 year anniversary. Man time flys. I am so grateful for everyday we have together. We have had our ups and downs, (who hasn't), but I wouldn't change any of it for anything.

Sean, you are the greatest thing to happen to me. I love you SO very much! I miss you more than words can describe. I pray everyday for your safety. I can't wait to see you! I look forward to many, many more years and blessings together!

I have a lake trip coming up, and I have my trip(s) to DC coming up. I am in desperate need of a bathing suit. I DON'T own one! I REALLY need one! SO....I went on my quest to find one that I really liked, and that I would actually wear (big problem...I haven't had one that met both those criteria in YEARS)

I narrowed it down to 3 suits.

Then, I found out that my number 2 suit was sold out in my size.

SO, now down to 2 suits.

I decided on this little cute thing. It IS SO cute, and not something everyone will have (I think).

My bottoms aren't the boy short kind, they are regular kind.

Now I just need a cute cover up to wear when I am not in the water!

I am SO excited for it to come. I just hope it fits, and looks as cute in person as it does online.

FYI THIS IS MY 100TH POST!!!

I haven't been in the mood lately to blog...I guess it is time for a little update. I will start at the beginning and work my way forward.

Yesterday was an awesome Mother's Day. I cooked a wonderful meal for my mom. Shannon helped me too! It was great. We also got to talk to Marc. He is doing really well, and thinks he is bringing a dog home with him. We miss him tons!

For dinner we had Parmesan crusted Tilapia, Cheddar garlic biscuits, green beans, salad, and Key Lime Pie for dessert. It was Really really good...and pretty easy too.

My sister in law Shannon just graduated on Friday from the U with her Masters. I decided that since I couldn't go to the graduation I would make her a little treat for Sunday as well.

I made these graduation caps for her. The bottoms of them have a little cream cheese surprise. They were really fun and easy to make too. Anyone else graduating I can make these for? ( I need to play with them a little, I don't like the top cap part, I need sharper corners and thinner tops)

Mother's Day was a great day. I love my mom. She is my best friend. We didn't always have such a great relationship, and I am really sorry for that. But we do now, and I love it.

On Saturday my mom and I went to get massages, it was wonderful. Nice and relaxing. I need to do that more often!

Now, on to the next topic. Lisa's baby shower. It ended up being a surprise shower, and I didn't really plan it. But that is ok, that means we had more money for her gift. My mom and I had SO much fun shopping for her gift.

This is the gift basket we put together for Lisa. I loved doing it! She is my best friend, and I love her and she totally deserved it!

UPDATE: Lisa had her little girl last Thursday! I don't know more details yet. But she is adorable!

Sean took this picture while we were at the Sprint Store a while back waiting for his phone to get fixed....he was giving me a lesson on how to use my phone...can you tell how excited I was about it?

Sean is going to Washington DC on Sunday to start a summer of sales. I will be going out there definitely for 4th of July, and hopefully in June and August as well. I also get to see him towards the end of May when we are both in Elko visiting his brother who just got back from Iraq. It will be sucky having him gone, but it is only 4 months, and I will still get to see him hopefully once a month!

No more motorcycle rides for the summer! I will miss this mug!

So, I need everyone to do me a little favor! Entertain me! I don't have kiddos to make the time go by faster, so I need my friends to help do that!

Chicken Parmesan Sub

I have been on a kick lately. Trying new things for dinner. Poor Sean, sometimes they are really bad, and sometimes they are really good. Last night was a really good night. I made

Chicken Parmesan Sub sandwiches.

They were delicious! And Nutritious!

Here is how I created this masterpiece.

1/2 c. wheat flour

1/2 tsp. sea salt

1/2 tsp. fresh ground pepper

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast

4 tsp. EVOO

2 - 6 once bags Spinach

1 c. marinara sauce

1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
4 whole wheat sandwich rolls, toasted

1. position oven rack in top position; preheat broiler

2. combine flour, salt & pepper in shallow dish. place chicken between 2 large pieces of plastic wrap. Pound with the smooth side of a meat mallet or a heavy saucepan until the chicken is an even 1/4" thick. Dip the chicken in the flour mixture and turn to coat.

3. heat 2 tsp. EVOO in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add spinach and cook, stirring often, until wilted, 2 - 3 minutes. Transfer to a small bowl

4. add 1 tsp. oil to the pan and half the chicken and cook until golden, 1 - 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a large baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining 1 tsp. oil and chicken; transfer to the baking sheet.
5. top each piece of chicken with the wilted spinach, marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese. Sprinkle with mozzarella. Broil until the cheese is melted and the chicken is cooked through, about 3 minutes. Serve on the rolls.

This dinner was surprisingly good, and really quick and easy to make (gotta love quick and easy). It was pretty healthy too. Sean wasn't a huge fan of the Spinach, mostly because he isn't a huge fan of spinach in general. I thought it made it really good. The chicken was amazing and juicy, not dry at all (it helps that I have become a professional chicken cooker, and can cook it to perfect tenderness, not dry at all).

This is definitely a keeper!

I am putting together a baby shower for my very best friend Lisa. She is due May 17th! I am so excited for her! My mom and I were trying to decide how to do the invitations. We had a few ideas in mind when we headed to Ben Franklin (one main reason I like UT). When we got there Wade helped us find what we were looking for and gave us some great ideas! We ended up making these little beauties:

Cool Hand Luke's

Sean and I went to Boise this past weekend to visit family and his Grandmother who (we just found out) has a brain tumor. Her mind is all there, but her body isn't keeping up anymore, it is really sad. Makes me never want to get old.

I got to meet some of Sean's family from back east that I have never met before. We had a great time visiting everyone.

On Saturday night we went to dinner at this place called Cool Hand Luke's. It is a steakhouse. I was reading the menu and the had "Santa Maria Tri Tip". Of course being from Santa Maria, I had to get it (after I asked how they prepared it). They didn't even use Suzie Q's, but it was still pretty good. They told me that they don't use the special seasoning, but that theirs is very similar (the probably didn't even know what it was). I found it funny that they have Santa Maria Tri Tip, and it is nothing like it, except for the tasty part.

We also took a trip to Cabella's. Sean's dad doesn't get to go there too often. I was watching Sean's uncle Dave shoot a compound bow, I was offered a turn, and couldn't pass it up. It was my first time with one of those things and let me tell you, it is pretty fun. PLUS, I hit the bulls eye.

Best Dinner EVER!

Last night I wanted to try something new with chicken for dinner. I made this!

Japanese Chicken-Scallion Rice Bowl

It was REALLY good, and REALLY easy (even the husband was sure to tell me how great it was). Here is how the magic happened.

1 1/2 cups brown rice (I used white as I was out of brown)
1 cup reduced sodium chicken broth (I used two, gave more broth)
1 1/2 Tabelspoon sugar
2 Tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 Tablespoon mirin (low alcohol rice wine, I didn't use...didn't have any)
2 Large egg whites
1 Large egg
8 ounces chicken cut ing 1/2 pieces
6 Scallions, trimmed and thinly sliced

1. Prepare rice (be it instant or not)
2. Pour broth into a heavy medium saucepan, along with sugar, soy sauce and mirin. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low.
3. Stir egg whites and whole egg in a small bowl until just mixed. Add chicken to the simmering broth. Gently pour in the egg mixture, withough stirring. Sprinkle scallions on top. When the egg starts to firm up, after about 3 minutes, stir it with chopsticks or a knife. (the chicken will be cooked by now). Divide the rice among 4 deep soup bowles and top with the chicken mixture.

The best thing is the nutrition information...I will tell you, simply because this meal is tasty and good for you.

3 g fat (1 g sat fat, 1 g mono fat)
87 mg cholesterol
34 g carbohydrates
21 g protein
2 g fiber
395 mg sodium

Life recently

Sean's family came for a visit last Thursday. I love the kind of vacations when you don't really do anything...you just take off work and hang out! Well, that is precisely what we did. We went to Costco and shopping and played lots of games. We had a really nice visit with them, it is always good to see them, and I wish it was more often!

Sean's cousin Brandon also just recently came home from his mission in Argentina and he and is dad were in UT visiting and on business. We had the opportunity to visit with them over dinner. We had our open house at this particular uncle's house in Phoenix. He is a great guy! It was really nice to see them and be able to visit and catch up. I had only met Brandon once before he left on his mission, and that was when Sean and I first started dating, I went to Phoenix with him for his best friends wedding. I wasn't sure Brandon would remember meeting me or not...but he did.

Other than those little visitors and threw us out of our routine, it was a good week. Work has been flying by, and I was just given more responsibility. I will now be handling all the life business as well as the annuity business. That will for sure keep me busy!

Sean is doing great in school, all "A's" and maybe a "B". He is going to try to get on with the forest service this summer working to put out fires. He has always wanted to do that, and this way he can see if he really likes it or not, before we invest the time and money into it.

That is about all the news that we have going on right now. We lead pretty boring lives, so here is a picture from our dinner at The Roof with my work a few weeks back.

The Perks of the Job

My boss decided that he was going to close the office on Friday for a meeting we were having. He was having it out of the office (downtown). I was in that meeting from 9 am to 5 pm...with a few breaks and lunch thrown in there.

That night he took everyone and their spouse/significant other to dinner at the Roof. It was wonderful, we had a private room, and just got to enjoy every ones company. Mind you this was our Christmas dinner we didn't have earlier because the CFO of the company was out due to hip surgery. It is nice to have him back in the office.

To top off the evening my boss got us all rooms at the Hilton downtown, so we didn't have to drive back...and because he is a awesome boss! Sean and I were on the 18th floor (top floor). You know the floor that requires a key to even access! It was such a nice night, and I am so thankful for a boss that is so caring for his employees, that he will go to great lengths to keep us happy!

Plus, I am just thankful for a job that is thriving in this economy! Most jobs are cutting back, and going through hard times. Last year was our biggest year ever, and this year is on track to be even better!

I have been doing Yoga for quite a while now...and I thought it would be nice of me to share my love affair.

I am obsessed with Baron Bapitste Power Vinyasa Yoga! It is SO much fun, and such a great work out (in addition to the gym of course)..

You know how some yoga videos have a crazy instructor that talks and talks and talks...well, Baron talks, don't get me wrong, but he is really good, and he has a soothing voice that just helps you relax.

I got these videos originally from my boss, she reccommend him, and I totally agree. I have another video of his, all are wonderful!

I Love My Husband

I know I just recently used this title, but it is SUCH a good title and such a true statement in only a few little words!

Sean isn't much of a romantic, and I am fine with that. But when he is, it is that much better.

I can count on one hand how many times Sean has bought me flowes. SO, you can imagine my surprise when I came back last week from a long day at a funeral (crying for 4 hours) and had 2 dozen roses waiting at work for me! What a sweet, sweet man! He hates flowers, but knows that they are a good thing.

My favorite thing is when he will bring me home a little boquet he picked up because he tought I would like them, or because he was thinking of me or just to say "I Love You"! It is so sweet.

We didn't do much for Valentine's Day, we both kind of think it is over rated (we did spend the day together though, relaxing. AND Sean has a great point. "I don't need a stupid day to express my love for you, I do it EVERYDAY". How can I argue with that!

I never had the opportunity to meet Adrianne but I knew some of the other children. They all have this sweet spirit and are such a joy. I can't even fathom the heartache and loss you are feeling right now.

I hope you know that she will be well taken care of in Heaven with her Heavenly Father, waiting for the day she will be able to see your smiling faces again!

We had a great Superbowl party. The food was awesome, especially the teriyaki chicken wings...definitely the best. The game was super intense! Would have been better if the Cardinals won. Steelers got lucky! But nonetheless, it was a good game, and a great time had by all.

He spoils me! He just bought me this...

It is more of a metalic rose color. Really cute! We now have the same phone, only his is black! Mine is cuter though. It has way more than I even know how to use, but I sure am learning...now I have to reset my voicemail...SUCK...I haven't changed it since I originally started my contract with Sprint 4 years ago! There is a reason for that.....I hate the sound of my voice recorded and I always screw up what I am going to say!!

On a side note....

We are having a superbowl party...I am way excited for it. Here is the menu...all of which will be homemade...fun times! Good thing church is at 9am

The majority of my recent posts have been about our snowboardingtrips. In keeping with that tradition, here is another post about snowboarding on Saturday.

Friday night after I got home from work my dad informed us that he wanted to go skiing. (this was his invitation) after running to Sports Authority to get new under armor we decided to head to the mountain Saturday (forget about all the laundry, shopping & house work I had to do).

I have to say, it was an amazing day. The weather was amazing! A little cold in the morning, but warmed right up once the sun came out.

Here we are at the top of the mountain. Great view, and as you can see great weather!

Not only did the weather make things wonderful, but it made my fears go out the window. I have been pretty chicken when it came to going fast and going down black diamond runs. Well, I went down my first black diamond while snowboarding! It is my new favorite run!

My second favorite run is a blue run. I love it mostly because at the beginning of the run there is a pretty steep drop and then a catwalk cuts through it. If you hit the edge of the catwalk right you can catch some prtty good air! Well, I was so fearless, I decided I was going to try to catch some air. I DID. It was awesome, I even landed it. Sean tried to do the same thing, he caught more air than I did, but ate it pretty bad.

At the end of the day, the runs started to get really choppy, so at about 3:15 we decided to call it a day. Good Times. I am definitely loving the mountains, even if I say I want spring to come!

On a side note...

The last few million pictures Sean and I have taken have been of us snowboarding. I decided to take a normal picture, to show that we can clean up...and we do a dang good job of it.

Ok, so we are pretty dorky, but at least we got dressed up for church! Sean normally isn't this clean shaven, it is pretty different!

Just in case anyone cares. Here is a little update on our weightloss journey. Sean has lost 35 lbs...and is getting handsomer (is that even a word) by the day (not that I didn't already think he was handsome, just more so now that he is getting back into shape, he has this aura about him...can't explain it). I have lost 25 lbs. I am really excited about that, almost where I want to be!

We are doing very well, and enjoying our diet.

Our NEW CAR!!!

It was too dark last night and this morning to take a picture of our new car, so I found one on the internet that looks just like it (see below).

We finally got it! a 2007 Mazda CX7. I love it! It has leather interior (black) Bose speakers, Moon roof. We are getting the luggage rack next week for it, and tinting the windows a little darker (just the front ones).

It looks clean, and I love the way it drives. The Turbo engine doesn't hurt much either! Still have the manual or auto shifter, which I LOVE....and now we have All Wheel Drive! WOOHOO.

You get the idea as to what it looks like. This is pretty much exactly what it looks like. I am SO in love with this car! AND we have a warranty for 5 years starting yesterday, and it only has 23K miles on it!

Can you tell I am excited about our new car?! If not...what is wrong with you!

We will miss you

Yesderday Sean and I went to shop for a car. We have been researching them online, and wanted to get something preferably all wheel drive, if not at least 4 wheel drive. It will enable us to do lots of other stuff, camping, not taking the tahoe snowboarding, going for drives in the mountains....and better traction in the snow.

Anyway, we had a couple options in mind. The first place we went was where we bought our current car from. They are awesome, and no pressure, and last time gave us an amazing deal!

Well, we never made it to look at our other options. We got such an amazing deal on this new car, I can't believe it. And we didn't have to give up any of the features with our current car that I wanted to keep (ie: bose speakers, 6 disk in dash changer, leather, moon roof)!

Now the sad part. I am really going to miss our baby. I love that car. She has been really good to us, and we to her! This post is an ode to our 2006 Mazda 6. They are great cars if anyone is looking into buying something! We never thought much of them until we test drove one 1 1/2 years ago! It is SO comfortable, and roomy! I am really going to miss that car!

The only bad thing about this new car, is that we can't pick it up until Monday. They weren't able to get everything ready to go and detailed for us to take home Saturday. BUMMER...Now I will have to take pictures on Monday or Tuesday...and post what we bought! If you haven't already guessed! More to come...

To Board or Not to Board...

I had the opportunity to go snowboard/skiing with my dad, Jeff and Mitch yesterday...Good times! Mitch decided that he wanted to try skiing for half of the day (he is an avid snowboarder). I must say he did pretty good!

It was nice to be able to take a day off work and go have fun with the family one last time before Jeff and his family go home. Too bad Sean couldn't go...he had school...we missed him!

I lost my goggles a few weeks back...I had no clue until I went to find them on New Year's Day for our trip...I was pretty pissed...I had to borrow some from my popps. I love my goggles, they are cute, and work great for me. I searched and searched Wednesday night...and I FOUND THEM. They fell off the shelf in my closet and landed between the wall and my wedding dress bag...no wonder I couldn't find them! WOOHOO....SO now they are back!

Not So Bad

We found out last night that my Grandmother's Cancer is not as bad as the Dr. had thought. She has breast Cancer and it is in her bone marrow, but not in her lung bones. They are optimistic that they can have a positive outcome. They plan on using a Kemo type pill, and think that will help. Please keep her in your prayers. We aren't ready to let her go!

Bittersweet Fun...

This post is supposed to be happy. We are having a great time with my brother, sister in law and neice. We have laughed until we cryed. But we have also cryed. On Friday we found out that my Grandmother has cancer, and it has spread through her whole body. My mom is leaving to go to Seattle to be with her on Wednesday. We are still trying to enjoy out time together, but it has been hard. They are starting Kemo this week, but aren't sure it is going to work, because her blood is not producing enough cells to make the Kemo work. We are praying that it will work and that we can get her transferred up here to Huntsman's. That way we can be with her.

Onto a happier note. Here are a few pictures. I have more, but they are on my mom's camera, and I have to get them off...which is a task within itself!

Post Christmas and Flu

I was planning on making this post yesterday. We got home Sunday from our Christmas Vacation, and would have had time at work to get it taken care of....but....I ended up spending the day between the couch and the bathroom....Dang FLU! I will spare you the details...just know, that I was miserable, and am SO glad I was able to get over it. I will say this...my husband was wonderful! He was up with me until 5 am making sure I was ok! He even laid down on the floor while I was on the couch, until I felt good enough to go back into the bedroom, he even offered to go get me some sprite at 4 in the morning! What a great guy! Love him!

Now on to the good stuff!

We had an amazing Christmas! We spent it with Sean's family. They came up to see us Friday before Christmas. We went to the lights, and shopping. Then we caravaned back with them on Sunday.

The whole week was relaxing. I love not having to get up for work, not having any stress, and being able to do whatever!

Our Christmas Highlights..

*Sean got a new iPod Touch, snowboard & bindings.
*I got a new iPod Touch, snowboard pants, boots, a hoodie, and a new flat screen TV for our bedroom...The last gift (the TV) was actually for both of us)
*We outfitted Sean's little brother with all the gear he needs for snowboarding. He loved it...
*Sean's dad's present had a "mishap with shipping and wasn't there on time, so he got a piece of paper!
*Sean's mom cooked an awesome Christmas dinner.
*We played cards and games until the wee hours of the night, with Sean's cousin's and his family!

When we got home, we had another Christmas with my parents...They are always great!
They got us an amazing picture of the SLC Temple with our names and wedding date inscribed on it, it looks Wonderful in our bedroom. Also they got us some books, and cooking stuff! Love Them! Then that night I got deathly ill!!

NOW for even more good news! Jeff, Becky and Chloe will be here tonight! I wont see them until tomorrow though...bummer...they get here too late and I have to be up early for work...YUCKY...at least it is only 1/2 day!

We will be spending New Year's with them, snowboard, hanging out, and just being together! They will be here through the 9th! I am so excited! I haven't seen Becky since our wedding and I haven't seen Jeff and Chloe since last January!

I will post more pictures when I take more! I am sure I will get some good ones snowboarding and of the whole family (minus Marc...we miss you buddy!)

Vacation

Tomorrow is the Official start of my Christmas Vacation! My In-Laws are coming up here tonight, they wanted to see the lights before they were off until next year! We were planning on spending Christmas with them, but not leave until Tuesday. LUCKY ME, I got Monday off too and so we are going to travel back with them on Sunday. Not returning until next Sunday! WOOHOO, a week off work and away from UT!! I promise, promise, promise to take pictures. I don't however, promise to post them before I get back, I may, but I may not, it depends on what we have to do!

Our week will be spent teaching Sean's little brother how to snowboard! Should be fun! We outfitted him with everything he needs this year to go, the only things missing are the gloves! I sure hope he has some.

I am SO looking forward to spending time with my "other Family" and relaxing, with no worries!

Melting Away...In a GOOD way

I know I said I would update everyone on our weight loss journey last week....but I forgot, so there...BUT to make up for that, I have decided to update you now!

Rather than divulging to the entire world wide web how much weight I have lost I will say this...
(It is kind of embarrassing how much weight I gained in the first place)

TONS!

I have lost enough weight to be down a pant size! I have lost twice as many inches as I have lost pounds! I have put on 2 lbs of lean muscle mass...and my BMI is down even farther!

Sean is doing just as well...he has lost more weight than inches and his BMI is also way down!.

A little bit farther, and I will be right where I want to be!

Lets just hope we can make it through the Holiday's with no setbacks!

Ode to the ER

My husband has been so good about helping me in kitchen, as was the case last night. He was preparing our desert...grapefruit. Yummy! Anyway, he was using a LARGE knife to cut around the edges of the grapefruit, and the knife went through the peel and sliced his finger...

After debating for about 45 minutes, I finally convinced him that he needed to go to the ER and get stitches.

The nurse there was way cool! We ended up getting right in, apparently cuts and such get seen faster than the "other things" Made us feel special...

All the while, Sean is telling me "I don't need stitches"....YEAH RIGHT

After awhile of waiting I went back to see how he was doing. 5 stitches and a tetanus shot later, he was ready to go home. Good thing he went. Dr. said that if he didn't it would have kept breaking open, because it was so deep and because of the location of the cut!

SO, thank you Davis Hospital ER for getting is in and out in a timely manner! I kept hearing horror stories of people waiting for 3 hours in the ER....Sean himself waited 3 hours in the ER with a dislocated shoulder...YIKES!
